Alex Fryer trained as a nurse at Guys Hospital in 1985 and is now one of the UK’s leading PSHE Speakers specializing in issues around sex and Relationships.
Following 10 years in General practice she decided to concentrate on Sexual Health and Contraception. In 1995 she completed the ENB 950 course and subsequently has gone on to complete her nurse prescribing qualification.
As a Specialist Practitioner in Contraception and Sexual Health she has devoted much of her time working within the Norfolk Primary Care Trust advising on matters of sexual health, relationships and contraception in the local schools and colleges.
Alex has many years of experience providing information and advice to both young people and their parents. Being the mother of two grown up children has helped her to recognize and appreciate the problems and pressures facing young people today with regard to sex and relationships and has also enabled her to develop the necessary skills and sensitivity needed to communicate effectively with young people. The work she carries out in schools has now extended to working with teaching and pastoral care staff, and she has recently joined the University of East Anglia as an associate lecturer.
Alex has to date visited around 100 schools throughout the UK, most of those are now on annual basis.
Alex Fryer is delighted to announce that she has been joined by Amy Forbes-Robertson (BA, Mphil, PGCE) who will work with her in delivering Sex and Relationship Talks in Schools.
